 Haiti has more than one million orphans and vulnerable children. Over 70% live in abject poverty. 96% live without running water or electricity. Malnutrition is rampant. Child mortality is high.
Kevin and Lael have always dreamed of adding to their family through adoption. God has been preparing them to take this step through a myriad experiences. As an adoptee himself, Kevin has personal insight on the unique challenges adopted children can experience. Before marriage, Lael was a teacher and nurse in rural Haitian villages, giving her a great love of the Haitian people and an understanding of their culture. Together they hope to give a child a home where they will be loved unconditionally, their struggles will be understood, and their heritage valued and integrated into their life.
